Margie's Therapeutic Touch does treat clients/patients for injuries for personal injury claims, such as automobile accidents (PIP) and work-related injuries (workman’s compensation claims). When you meet specific criteria, your medical massage services may be billed directly to your insurance.
What you will need:
- a prescription from a physician, naturopathic physician or chiropractor
- the prescription must include a diagnosis code (or codes) for billing purposes
- a claim number from your auto insurance company (PIP)
- the name of the claims representative from your auto insurance company who is handling your claim
What you need to do:
The ordering physician must state what condition; accident injury or illness; the massage therapy is expected to provide relief from.
Generally this must be included on the written order or prescription and is best expressed as an ICD-9 code, a code that stands for your condition and understood by insurance companies when processing your auto/car insurance or workers compensation claim.
The written order or prescription must give a frequency and duration; in other words; say how often massage therapy treatment should occur and how long the regimen should last.
All the paperwork must be filled out prior to receiving medical massage therapy. Your auto/car insurance company will pay Holistic Massage & Wellness Clinics directly.
